Pauline, Ferdinand, August, and
Henry Pokrant immigrated from Volhynia, Russia and first
stepped onto Canadian soil in Halifax in the late 1800's,
moving to Rosenfeld soon after. Over the next 100 years,
their descendants have grown to become a very large
family and have spread out far and broad. It is now
time to come home!
A reunion is not only important
to have an opportunity for the adults to reminisce and
share old times but also to honour and remember those
that have passed on. It is especially important for
the younger generation of Pokrants to learn about our
heritage, our native Rosenfeld, Manitoba homeland, and
to see first hand their many close relatives.
The organizing committee has planned
a fun filled day including devotion, reunion, sight
seeing, picture taking, sharing of memories, telling
of stories, dining, and visiting.
